Wade Anderson

Being competitive, active, and staying healthy has been Wade Anderson’s mantra since he was young. He has been an athlete all of his life, from wrestling at Iowa State University to competing in Mixed Martial Arts tournaments and triathlons later in life, to playing tennis most recently. Wade is certified as a personal trainer, sports injury specialist, and in performance nutrition, and has a Masters of Science in Applied Exercise Physiology. Wade has been self-employed as a personal trainer for over a decade. He has partnered with Orange Shoe Personal Fitness because Orange Shoe’s philosophy is similar to his own: do everything better, from living to working and everything in between. When Wade is away from personal training, he enjoys spending time with his daughter and living life to its fullest, wherever that takes him.

Q: Why did you become a personal trainer?
A: I became a personal trainer because I love helping others achieve their goals. I also know that I need to be on the move doing different things and I would go crazy locked in a office all day!

Q: What has been one of your favorite client experiences?
A: I had a client lose over a 100lbs in one year. She completely transformed her life and I was delighted to be part of the transformation.

Q: What is your proudest physical achievement?
A: Receiving a scholarship to wrestle for Iowa State University

Q: Why do you love Orange Shoe?
A: I love working in atmosphere with like minded health professionals. We’re always having fun while working to help as a team to help our clients achieve their health and fitness goals.

Mitch dela Merced Personal Trainer

Mitch dela Merced

Mitch dela Merced earned his B.S. in Kinesiology from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Before becoming a personal trainer, Mitch was an active athlete and followed a physical therapy path studying rehab and injury prevention. After discovering what exercise and fitness had to offer, Mitch found a passion that he couldn’t let go of. His rehab experience along with exercise science knowledge were like two halves of a whole – the best of both worlds. This, along with his love of helping other people made it an easy decision to become a personal trainer. He takes pride in putting the ‘personal’ in personal training by individualizing workouts specific to each client, and believes that being healthy isn’t just about the physical aspect- it’s also mental, emotional, and psychological. Mitch is excited to be able to be part of a team that can help change your life for the better- Orange Shoe Personal Fitness.

Q: Why did you become a personal trainer?
A: To be able to help people reach their fitness goals and prove to themselves that they can do it.

Q: What has been one of your favorite client experiences?
A: Receiving thank you letters from how much I have impacted their lives.

Q: What is your proudest physical achievement?
A: Hitting personal records in my squat and deadlift.

A: The atmosphere allows for any body who is looking to better themselves. It isn’t intimidating, but all inclusive of all levels of fitness.

Ken Fron Personal Trainer

Ken Fron

Ken Fron is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago in Exercise and Fitness and a Board Certified Massage Therapist. Ken started his interest in fitness through his career in gymnastics. He grew up under the motto “A Sound Mind In A Sound Body.” A person should exercise their mind as much as they exercise their body, both are important. Gymnastics taught him a way of exercising utilizing the fundamentals of body weight and plyometric training. He also enjoys playing volleyball and looks forward each and everyday to helping individuals who wish to make exercise and health a part of their life.

Q: Why did you become a personal trainer?
A: To To help those looking to make a change and reach the next step in the health and fitness.

Q: What has been one of your favorite client experiences?
A: Seeing the pride and joy of a client when after months of strength training with us, was able to decrease his race times for running and doctor took him off blood pressure medication.

Q: What is your proudest physical achievement?
A: Winning All-Around 1st Place Level 7 at a National Gymnastics Meet

A: The Personalization. We focus on each individuals unique needs and goals for health and fitness. Through this we build great relationships with our clients.

Fatime Dika Personal Trainer

Fatime Dika

Fatime Dika graduated from Iowa State University with a BS in exercise science. Prior to exercise science, Fatime was also a pre-physical therapy student. Fatime has had the opportunities to work in sports rehabilitation, outpatient rehabilitation and pediatric rehabilitation. Physical therapy experience has made her love for personal training and helping others a top priority. She is excited to be pursuing her career as a personal trainer, and committed to motivate you towards your fitness goals.

Q: Why did you become a personal trainer?
A: Being able to be the motivation for an individual to reach fitness goals and live a healthier lifestyle makes me feel like a great achievement

Q: What has been one of your favorite client experiences?
A: Working on new goals and working with a client who is open to new exercise techniques

Q: What is your proudest physical achievement?
A: Worked with a stroke patient for two years and after a year I was able to get help him achieve his goal of being able to get out of bed on his own

Kaileigh Moertl Personal Training

Kaileigh Moertl

Kaileigh Moertl graduated from North Park University with a B.S. in Exercise Science and a concentration in Pre-Physical Therapy. As a collegiate athlete, she put her drive for fitness to the test both on and off the softball field. She has a calling to help others in the pursuit of living healthier lives and believes that no matter the obstacle or stage of life, anyone can reach their fitness goals. She views fitness holistically and wants clients to succeed in all areas of their life – physically, emotionally, intellectually and mentally – and is committed to helping them achieve the lifestyle they desire. Outside of training, Kaileigh can be found brushing up on fitness research, finding new coffee shops or hanging out at home with friends. But more likely than not, you can find her in the gym!

Q: Why did you become a personal trainer?
A: I became a personal trainer because the idea of helping people lead healthy lifestyles fuels me. I love working out, but more than that, I love challenging others to pursue exercise.

Q: What has been one of your favorite client experiences?
A: I love the look on clients’ faces after totally killing it in a hard workout – pure grit and triumph. It’s an incredible feeling pushing someone through a tough workout and watching them give it their all.

Q: What is your proudest physical achievement?
A: My proudest physical achievement was hitting my PR in squats and dead lifts when I was playing college softball. My junior season was the strongest I’ve ever been and I would love to get back to that.

Q: Why do you love Orange Shoe?
A: We are a tight-knit community here. Everybody cares about each other – trainers, clients, owners – and there is nothing but love and dedication in this studio. We also have a ton of fun and jam to the best playlists in the business.

Talha-Sajjad-Personal-Trainer

Talha Sajjad

Talha found his passion for fitness, while pursuing a BS in Bioengineering at the Universiy of Illinois at Chicago. Being an athlete most of his life, staying active was always a way of life. He started training professionally in 2014, and decided to make that his career. He is a nationally certified personal trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine. His passion for fitness is fueled by helping his clients achieve their goals and feel more comfortable in their own bodies. Talha is most likely found in the gym or binge watching a TV show on Netflix.

Q: Why did you become a personal trainer?
A: To help people achieve their goals and be more comfortable in their own bodies.

Q: What has been one of your favorite client experiences?
A: It would have to be a tie between helping a 78 year old veteran gain his mobility back through training and making a 40 year old mom get comfortable with strength training to achieve the body type she’s always wanted.

Q: What is your proudest physical achievement?
A: Losing 64 pounds and transforming my body from 222 pounds and 25% body fat to 158 pounds and 14% body fat.

A: I love Orange Shoe Personal Fitness because it really emphasizes the personal aspect of training, making sure to create programs that will directly help clients achieve their goals successfully.
